You Get So Alone Sometimes

when you wake up driving somewhere you didn't know you were going
what music is playing on the radio becomes very important
...
for it provides clues to your state of mind when you last knew you existed
and now again

just as some days are all dark
no matter how bright the sun
so some are lost
no matter where they are
and as such I have become

but I keep my secrets
learn little tricks
(the radio thing as one)
to almost be normal
or at least appear so anyway

you see, I've died for love before
and given the time, will do so again
yet by being a fool I accepted the fate
of knowing all I'll never know
-a fire fades to a glow; laughter; darkness



...but it gets so alone sometimes
