*a rainbow around the sun is known as a sun dog
   a glowing ring around the moon is a lunar halo (and also a predictor of precipitation)
but scene above is the only occasion I recall of a rainbow around the moon
 of course the actual event was much more impressive/alive than what I captured
   yet still one of those moments for which I am especially grateful of the opportunity to share
